Painting Description
Breathing Space explores the expressive potential of negative space as an active visual element rather than an empty background. The open areas are intentionally preserved to create rhythm, balance, and moments of visual pause, allowing the textured forms and layers of colour to emerge with greater presence. Instead of defining the composition solely through what is painted, the work invites the viewer to engage with what is left unsaid, where absence becomes as significant as presence.
